Week 2

Hi Everyone!  I thought a daily update would be possible but it's probably going to be more like a weekly update.  So week 2 brought tons of progress.  Actually the few concrete pictures below are  from week 1.

Tally with a sucker in her mouth, one in her hand and a tooties roll in the other.

This is how we ended week 1 with the slab poured and ready for framing.  Friday and Saturday it rained a ton.  I'm thankful we got to spend some awesome time with family.
Marcus, Chelsea and Eve visiting from Delaware.
Playing bean bag toss also known as "cornhole" in Dan's shop
Baptism and baby blessing with more family
Beginning week 2.  Floor trusses and lumber delivered
 First wall framed!!!

I took the picture below around 7 pm tonight.  First floor done, floor trusses on, 2nd floor on ready to frame the 2nd story Monday.  There has been so much work put into this.  Extremely long days!  These weeks are seriously the longest weeks.  Nice work Tom, Dan and Ron!!
happy conference weekend!

House Building Day 6  putting up the forms for the foundation.
Day 7 - today 9/23 - they poured concrete. This is all the boring stuff.

House Building Days 1 & 2

We took the kids over to the lot on Tuesday to do an official ground breaking
We broke ground on Wednesday for the new house. The excavator arrived at 9 am and dug the foot print for the house.
We love this lot nestled in the middle of horse pasture.  To the east of us is a dairy farm.

Day 2 (Thursday) was footings.  Tally running in the dirt barefoot.

Foundation will be Monday/Tuesday.  More pictures to come!
